Raymond Fisher, Orchard Manager
Raymond was born and raised in Vancouver, BC. He spent his summer months during High School and University working on his uncle’s orchard in Keremeos BC. After leaving UBC Raymond spent time travelling various parts of the world including working in the agricultural industry in New Zealand. With his renewed interest in agriculture Raymond returned to Keremeos to take over the running of his uncle’s orchard. In the late 1980’s other family members became interested in taking over the orchard, so once again Raymond went off travelling. This trip found Raymond working in the tree fruit industry in Australia. With renewed vigour Raymond returned to BC focused on getting back into the tree fruit industry. While expanding his horticultural knowledge with courses through the University of Guelph, Raymond worked as a research technician with Integrated Crop Management Inc. (ICMI). It was during this time that Raymond secured the position as Orchard Manager at Dorenberg Orchards. Starting in 1992 Raymond worked at the ongoing transitioning of Dorenberg Orchards to new apple varieties and new planting and training systems.
Raymond’s combination of horticultural and mechanical knowledge make him a great addition to the Dorenberg team. He is always pushing for higher quality and, as a result, has become an essential part of Dorenberg’s success.
